The short explanation of this alert was:

Tell Your Representative to Reject the President's Veto

President Bush has vetoed the important bill passed by Congress last month outlawing torture by all U.S. agencies. We face an uphill battle for a successful override vote, but we must get as many Representatives as we can to stand firm against torture. The President's veto means that the CIA will continue to operate outside of the law by conducting interrogations that reportedly include the use of stress positions, exposure to frigid temperatures, and sleep deprivation

Tell your Representative to override Bush's veto and legislate a single standard of humane treatment for U.S. interrogation policy.
